Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

New Leaf Psychology Centre offers services for children, adolescents, and adults with ADHD and their families. This includes comprehensive assessments, treatment, and parent coaching provided by clinicians with extensive experience working with ADHD.

Diagnostic Assessments for ADHD

ADHD assessments completed at New Leaf Psychology Centre are comprehensive, involving parent / guardian / collateral interviews, observation, administration of ADHD specific assessment tools (e.g. CPT) and, depending on age, a full psychoeducational assessment (including consideration of intellect, executive functioning, and academic skills). Recommendations are provided at the feedback session and are included in the final report. Assessments are available across the lifespan.

Treatment and ADHD

Our experienced clinicians offer treatment specific to ADHD and/or co-occurring mental health concerns. Sessions are personalized, and depending on the individuals age may include parents, guardians and/or a spouse.

DBT Skills Groups for ADHD

Our DBT Skills Group for Children and Youth with ADHD is designed to help young people develop emotional regulation, mindfulness, and interpersonal skills that support success at home, school, and in relationships. The group also includes a parent component, providing caregivers with tools to reinforce skills at home, improve communication, and respond effectively to challenging behaviours.

Through structured, evidence-based sessions, participants learn practical strategies to:

  • Increase self-awareness and emotion regulation
  • Manage frustration and impulsivity
  • Improve focus, flexibility, and problem-solving
  • Strengthen relationships and family communication

This group offers a supportive and collaborative environment where youth and parents can learn, practice, and grow together.

Parent Therapy and Parent Coaching

Clinicians offer parent therapy to caregivers who are struggling themselves, and parent coaching to caregivers who wish to enhance their parenting skills. These services can be helpful for parents who are unsure how to manage challenging behaviours, would like to learn how to better support their child’s development, and/or would like guidance and support while advocating for their child.

Executive Functioning Skills Coaching

Difficulties with executive functioning skills are common among individuals who receive a diagnosis of ADHD. Our Executive Functioning Skills Coaches are trained and experienced in delivering coaching services to children, adolescents and adults who have a diagnosis of ADHD. Sessions are offered one-to-one, which allows for personalization of both content and pacing.
