Shankari Sharma provides therapy to children, adolescents, transition age youth, and their families. Shankari has extensive training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and integrates additional therapeutic approaches as appropriate, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). Her work is collaborative, client-centered, and grounded in trauma-focused and evidence-based practice.

Shankari also provides psychoeducational assessments. Her approach emphasizes collaboration with families, schools, and community supports to ensure that each child’s strengths and needs are well understood and that recommendations support them in reaching their full potential.

Shankari holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Toronto Metropolitan University and is currently completing a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at Adler Graduate Professional School. She has 10+ years of experience in private practice and hospital settings, and she is an autonomously registered member of the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO).

As part of her doctoral training, Shankari is currently completing a practicum placement at New Leaf Psychology Centre, where her focus is on psychological assessment and evidence-based treatment with children, adolescents, transition age youth, and their families. This placement allows her to deepen her skills in psychoeducational and psychodiagnostic assessment, as well as Cognitive-Behavioural and Emotion-Focused approaches across the lifespan, under the supervision of the New Leaf team.
