Dr. Carolyn Abramowitz provides comprehensive diagnostic, neuropsychological and forensic assessments for adolescents and adults. She conducts thorough diagnostic assessments evaluating cognitive and emotional functioning to clarify diagnoses and offer evidence-based treatment recommendations. Her neuropsychological assessments examine brain function, offering clinical opinions regarding etiology, prognosis, and appropriate intervention planning. Dr. Abramowitz also completes forensic assessments, including evaluations of fitness to stand trial, criminal responsibility, presentencing evaluations, fitness to work, and independent medical examinations. She has been qualified as an expert witness and has provided testimony in provincial and superior courts, as well as before the Ontario Review Board.
Dr. Carolyn Abramowitz is a neuropsychologist, as well as a clinical and forensic psychologist, registered with the College of Psychologists and Behavioural Analysts of Ontario. Dr. Carolyn Abramowitz received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the Rosalind Franklin University with a specialization in neuropsychology. She has worked across a variety of hospital and government settings, including at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, the Ontario Correctional Institution, Ministry of Labour, Physician Health Program, Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, and the University of Waterloo Campus Wellness Program. Dr. Abramowitz also volunteers her time for The Aftermath Foundation, an organization designed to assist individuals who have been negatively affected by their relationships with individuals with psychopathic traits.
