Ms. Jessie Heaman is a child and adolescent therapist who works from a variety of therapeutic modalities to provide support that is collaborative and tailored to each individual’s needs and developmental stage.  Depending on the needs of her clients, Ms. Heaman integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Play therapy in her approach.

Ms. Heaman also assists clinical psychologists in the administration of developmental, psychoeducational, and giftedness assessments. In assessments, Ms. Heaman works with clients, families, and schools to understand not only client challenges but also their strengths, and provide results and recommendations to further individual growth.

Ms. Heaman is currently working towards the completion of her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Guelph, where she also completed her master’s degree. Her research focuses primarily on positive psychology education in schools, growth mindset, resilience, and adolescent mental health. She has extensive experience in psychoeducational and psychological assessment, as well as training in the treatment of children, adolescents, and families who are experiencing a variety of difficulties. Ms. Heaman’s previous experience includes a variety of school, community mental health, and private practice settings.
